Carpet on landing

Hello people. I'm looking to have my upstairs bedrooms and landing carpeted, had a guy round earlier and he was happy to do the bedrooms and staircase but wasn't keen on doing the landing. Eventually he said he can do it but that it would need two joins, is this right? The landing is approx 8.5m from the doorway of bedroom 1 to the doorway of bedroom 3 and roughly 1m wide at all points, total width of the house is about 3.7m so taking it out of a 4m roll. I know it's an awkward shape but was hoping to avoid any joins, if that's the case however then so be it.
