polypropylene is used for cheap carpets

I don't know about carpets but someone who does tells me that 80:20 is ideal for domestic use.

There is to much to explain in writing unless i sit here all night typing away! Normally the more wool the better the carpet. But this is not always true. There are to many firms ripping people off selling 100% wool carpets that are made from really low grade wool, they use indian wool instead of british wool for example. You can also get very good quality polypropylene carpets that will out wear alot of wool carpets. Also the more wool the more likely it is to get a stain. But wool carpets tend to wear clean!
Your best bet is to go to a good local carpet shop and ask there advice on what ever budget you have. Also a bit of common sense is needed. For instance if you go to a shop and they try to sell you a wilton/woven/axminster style carpet for £10 a meter then its going to be rubbish. These sort of carpets start at about £30 a meter upwards.
