Cast Iron Fireplace Removal

Hi There,

I would like to remove a cast iron fireplace from a concrete wall, i have never done anything like this before, does anyone have any helpfull advice i can use, i can provide photos if need be, i believe the brickwork only goes to ceiling level.

ANY advice would be appreciated.

Is it an original installation or a retro fit in a modern house? If it’s original installation (& even if it isn’t), don’t damage it as it will usually be worth money &, if it’s ornate & rare, quiet serious money!

Its an original fireplace, the house was built in the 50's and it has been there since then!!
