Castle Caretech 1600 alarm sensor problem

Hi all, we have an old Castle Care tech 1600 alarm system that is playing up.

When you try to arm the system it just beeps constantly and doesn't set. It shows a number 5.

I have conducted the walk test and sensor 5 doesn't show, the infra red lights up and notices you fine.

I have replaced the sensor anyway and it still has the same problem.
Any ideas as this is throwing me a bit.

link out the zone, does it still show 5 as active.

I've tested all the wiring and it has between 13 and 14 at the live, 0.30v at the tamper (same as another i tested) but absolutely 0 at the NC white wire.
I looked at another sensor and that is reading 5v at the white.

Yes i can set the alarm by linking out the zone. 5# basically after the pin.

No REMOVE the two wires from zone 5 in the panel, fit a shorting link in zone 5 does it now set ok ?

What wires do i need to short out?

Also will it be easy enough to work out where zone 5 is in the main box?

Take out the 1k resistor ( brown black ) from the tamper/ alarm terminal and put it across zone 5 in the panel with the wires removed , will the alarm now set ? Check red / black for 13v at the pir
