Hello all,
I am looking to install a CXC 50/100 3000mm Catnic...
I would be immensly greatful of tips, must and must nots....
I have block and brick construction, joists sit at 350mm intervals an onto block. The gap is 2700mm, structural diagram states engineering bricks of 450mm x 215mm padstones.
I intend to have internal acros on scaffold boards and external strongboys. How many would I need of each and distance apart? I know to sit it on bed of mortar and support when set prior to soldier course. How do I tie padstones to existing brick?

Really appreciate and constructive replys, more info the better for me

The most vulnerable part of the wall is the section 45 degrees from each side of the opening to the middle of the opening. the closer you prop to the level of the lintel the more props you need. The pad stone needs to be a sufficient size to spread the load from the lintel down to the capacity of blockwork and should be set in mortar.
