Hi all, due to have an EICR carried out and there is one circuit with the old red and black wiring colours. There is no label on the consumer unit but a friend of the family has left me the printed and sticky label sheet that came with the CU when it was purchased.
I'm curious to know if this caution label MUST be on the consumer unit in order to pass the EICR ,and if so is there a specific place it needs to go? Either outside or inside the outer cover of the CU?
Many thanks for any info

There is no must, the EICR is what the inspector who has inspected your house option of the installation is, the government guide lines say he should have been in the trade 10 years, and how much insurance he should have, but although we all know it does not really refer to a house buyer report, since the report often does report on the condition of the electrical installation then until there is a court case saying it does not count, no one can really say it does not count.

One would expect where it is an easy job, with a car MOT the tester changes a bulb, and in same way one would expect and CU labels if required would be fitted at the time of inspection.

I know there is a problem with warning labels where I live. They need to be bilingual, but getting a bilingual pre-printed label is not easy, you often need to order 100 at a hit, so most the houses don't have the instructions in Welsh, if you were permitted to fail the installation on labels, 99% of homes in Wales would fail.
