Cavity or Solid Walls?

We are just about to embark on a rather massive project, we are in the process of buying our first house which is in need of ALOT of TLC!

How do I know if the house has cavity or solid walls? The house was built in 1930. I have seen a couple of sites that say that generally houses built after 1930 have cavity walls, but obviously I am not sure if this will include our house. I am pretty sure either way there is no insulation!

Any advice is REALLY appreciated!

Look at the bonding of the brickwork and measure the wall's thickness at the door or window jambs.
