Cavity walls

Hi

Should the tops of cavity walls be sealed or open?

In my extended bungalow, I can look down into the cavities from inside the eaves - should this opening be covered up?

OK so they can be closed or open, doesn't matter?

Mine are open, I can look right down inside the cavity and even see the polystyrene insulation board!

Modern cavities are usually closed, unless a full fill is used, as heat is lost through an open cavity.
