CB Keeps Popping

I have re-connected the outside brown wires with the small plastic bit and left the blue wires inside the terminals.
See image.

But I have not connected the switch on the inside. It's just open wires at the moment.
Does the internal switch need to be present for it to work?

I know it's a basic question, but just wanna confirm that.

Lack of such basic knowledge is why I am here asking for help.

It would be helpful if the experts here could help in a way knowing that I know very little rather than complaining about my lack of knowledge.

That part is a given. I have no knowledge, hence my reason for being here.

I could read all about electrics but that may not solve the problems I am facing and it raises more questions for me.

I appreciate any help given here for my issues, and I’m sure other newbs here also feel the same.

Looking for answers rather than flames.

Thank you all. I connected a temporary switch now and it's all working. Just have to go and buy a good switch for a permanent fix.

Appreciated.

I know most here are either electricians or otherwise knowledgeable about electrics, but it displays a certain lack of awareness to think that understanding of electrics is in anyway fundamental to being able to follow a normal life.

This thread is supposed to be helping the op.

Remember that before hitting Post.

Oh my mistake, I thought you were abusing the op! In that case I'd recommend the ignore button.

And in the intervening year you have done absolutely nothing to remedy your ignorance, and still think that it's perfectly OK to carry on trying to do electrical work when you don't have a scooby how it works or how to do it properly.
