Ceiling black above boiler

Who won then?

Agile did

He is always faster, fastest fingers on the web him

I dont aim to be the fastest but only to give the most technically correct and relevant reply.

In spite of being the first I have not succeeded because she has now called Transco and all she has managed to do is to have the boiler shut off because they are not qualified to inspect it.

She will spend a cold night with no DHW all because she would not take my advice !

I wonder if she has a landlords Gas Safety Certificate? If not she should report the dodgey landlord to the local EHO who will give him 14 days to get one!

|Go on tony no shame in admitting that you like getting int here first ;)

again i am pulling your leg and agree with your sentiments

Just in a jolly mood tonight and I have absolutley no idea why

:)

Its always very difficult to be the first!

I once posted my theatre review completely disagreeing with the Evening Standard reviewer and giving the show five stars whereas he had only given it two.

As I was the first to post a review, I risked total ridicule. Very luckily seven others all posted with the same views as mine and all gave the show the full five stars.

First as in fastest maybe, but possibly not as in best answer, you didn't give any advice - that was me. :D

But still I know how you feel mate!

As well as having the boiler serviced and checked annualy it is the landlords responsibility to supply you with a set of operating instructions for all gas appliances.

At worst it could be a flue seal gone or omitted at installion.

What are your illness symptoms? Tiredness& lethargy, stinging eyes, sore throat, headaches etc etc? Although I am not even the slightest qualified in any form of medical sense and these symptoms could easily be that of a virus etc, they are what we are taught to look out for with a suspect appliance that could be giving off CO.

As Scat says get a corgi in asap and for peace of mind visit your GP for a once over telling him there is a slight possibility of CO poisioning.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Actually been keeping heating off for last few weeks, as its worrying me! Called Brittish Gas to get an engineer out to inspect it, they insisited in sending the gas safety person out as i said i wasnt feeling well when boiler in operation!

Main symptoms have been headaches, but only when im in the house, and every day - been feeling sick at times when boiler is on.

Landlord didnt provide me with instructions for it, so thats something im trying to chase up but I do get it checked yearly.

I want to rule out the boiler before I go to docs with vague symptoms that may just be a virus.

Thanks for the mostly helpful advice!

I think we now need Paul Barker SRN !

Or was it Paul Barker RMN ?

You need a competent engineer to do a CO build up room test.

Most will have a FGA that has this facility built in and will give a print out to prove the results.
