Hi, wonder if anyone can help please (hope I have posted this in the right section)

I live in a mansard extension and wanted to put up some ceiling coving to cover cracks where the walls meets the ceiling.

I only wanted to have very narrow coving put up.

My ceiling is mostly flat but at some point there is a gentle arc / bend thereafter the ceiling continues into the sloped section.

I am trying to find a solution to getting suitable coving which can handle this bend or some form of other viable solution.

I have attached a photo below for ease.

Can anyone suggest anything please

Many thanks for any info provided
Cheers

I can't really provide you with the info you actually asked for, ie which coving to use - but I would say this;

I think coving is going to look terrible with your sloping ceiling, and it's also going to be awkward where the ceiling curves.

Have you tried decorators caulk to fill the cracks? As I don't think coving is the answer here.

Modified silicone polymers (MS polymers) are paintable and more flexible than regular caulks. Look at products such as CT1 or SikaFlex.

However, if you can physically push the plasterboard up (and see flex) then you might want to brush in some neat PVA in to the gap first. It doesn't always work, but anecdotally it has worked for me about 60% of the time.

MS polymers are however about a tenner per tube rather than £2 for caulk. They are also very sticky. I dip my finger in white spirit before smoothing them. They do not flow as nicely as silicone but, unlike caulk, they don't shrink back as they dry/cure.
