I boarded my ceiling yesterday.
Some walls were not square and I have some gaps around the perimeter of the board where it meets the wall not bigger that a quarter of an inch.

Would these need filling before skimming or will the plasterer just tap it and fill it with multi finish?

a plasterer will not even blink at 1/4".

if any gaps are considered 'vulnerable' then the spread can use tape to deal with these.

i try not to leave any gaps where shrinkage or impact may be a problem.

where a plasterboard butts up to say a casing for instance, leaving 10mm gaps here could result in the casing shrinking back and pulling the plaster with it.

continual impact of a door closing (slamming) can have a similar effect.
