I advise hiring a plasterboard lift.



The cables will fit within the thickness of the existing board. Just board the ceiling again, stagger the joints with the existing boards.
Get a battery drill.
Use 60mm plasterboard screws. You can also get a special screwdriver bit for plasterboard screws which stops you screwing them in too far.
Get a mate to hold the other end of the boards as you fit them.

Thanks. so overboarding? the room is very small so theres only 2 beams i can screw into. I will add a wooden boarder to hopefully help take the weight a little

It must be very small indeed if there only two joists above the room. Joists are typically 400 or 600mm spacing.
