Hi Guys,

I'm trying to fit a new spotlight light fitting, replacing the old rose.

I have two main cables coming through the ceiling...
1. contains L, N & E
2. Contain L, N, E plus a yellow ( presume this one to come from the dimmer switch)

the new light fitting has choc block with single connections for L, N & E

What is the correct wiring for this and what do i do with the spare yellow?!?!?!

Many thanks

Hi Ed

At the switch there is black with red tag.... this must be the switch live. There is also another red live.

The switch serves two lamps in the lounge...

Hello Pat,
Sorry, a bit groggy this morning.
You need to find the 'other end' of this 3 core + E really. Do you have a means of testing to see if its 'live' ?

Hi Ed

I dont have my tester with me....

Just had a look in the other rose fitting, the yellow appears to the loop connection between the two lamps.

All working!!

Many thanks for your input!
