Hello everyone

We had a plasterer lined up who let us down last minute.... so we attempted it ourselves.

Surprisingly, the walls look pretty good and the ceiling will (with filler/sand) BUT the joins between the wall and ceiling look seriously rubbish!!!!

If coving was going up it would be ok, but we are putting beams across the room so the edges of two walls where they meet the ceiling need to be neat.

What would you recommend?

Regards

without seeing it it's hard to say but i suspect your best bet is to get a bag of easifil, trowel some on from the ceiling line 6-8inches into the ceiling and the same down the wall, then use a corner trowel to get a nice looking corner, use a wet sponge to smooth off/feather it out into the ceiling and wall then get out your sand paper again to finish the job.

Thank you

I'll try easifill, and see how I get on. It can't look worse than it does now anyway.

Good advice from TM there . I would just add before you do this, remove any lumps or areas brushed in too heavy that make it rounded or wavy etc. In other words any small bits that are slightly proud.

You don't want these fouling your repair work.

You can use a filling knife and/or sandpaper for this.

This then means you are only dealing with what you need to fill and it will make the work a bit easier.

TM - you been away?

All good stuff - best of luck with wedding.

I presume your involvement in 'planning' it means 'agreeing to ' :D
