Cellar Drain - Where does it go???

I have an open drain under my cellar floor which always has some water in it. If I empty it, it will fill up in 24 hours, regardless of rainfall.

I'd like to know what it's connected to... I know where all the drains run from my guttering and waste. - They're all at least 6ft higher than this drain, so there's no way it can be connected to them.
This drain also runs at least 6ft past the cellar wall ...but I have no idea where it goes!! Any ideas???
