Hello all,

Just wondering if somebody could give some advice on the following. I'm planning on converting my garage into an office, the floor is concrete and perfectly level and dry I'm assuming since it's a garage there's no special insulation underneath so would like to use some celotex sheets for insulation.

I plan to stick 50mm celotex straight to the floor with some sort of adhesive then 18mm ply on top of the celotex with adhesive.

would this method be suitable enough? Should I use some batten between the celotex to screw the ply to?
will I need a dpm under or on top of the celotex?

Thanks in advance

11 years ago I converted my garage. I put 18mm polystyrene on the concrete floor and then overlayed that in a different direction with 18mm T&G chipbard flooring. No issues.

Do not stick the layers together - allow them to float.

Ensure that the concrete base has a sufficient moisture barrier.
