Hi,
Ihave some carpets being laid on Thursday and suspect that there may be some unevenness in the concrete that the underlay will sit on. Will it be OK to just use cement as a means of filling in these areas or do I need to mix sand in too? If so, can anyone give me the correct proportions to use please?

I may be wrong, but I'd suggest anything you do now to level will be too late for a Thursday carpet fitting.
Any dampness left from drying cement, screed or self leveling compound will damage the underlay and carpet.
I would get it laid now and if the unevenness bothers you, you need to take the carpet back up and sort the floor properly.

Levelling compound, is the stuff to use - but too late now, unless you can ask them to reschedule.
