The PC will not run all, and I don't walk around with a phone in my hand all day, and was looking at the EvoHome with a wall mounted unit which you can control a number of rooms from.
dated now, I know, but the idea of a central control which I can use to control and monitor the house instead of using my phone, seems a good idea.
Being able to see battery state of charge, turn lights on/off, adjust room temperatures etc, from a central point seems good. But how? Google Home does seem to combine a lot, but not the power use, the IHD (In home display) seems a bit useless, as by the time it shows importing power, it's a bit late, so maybe a wall mounted tablet can control all and display all, maybe included in a kitchen refurbish?
Basic some form of HMI (Human machine interface) or SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
which is designed for the home rather than a factory. The Google Nest speakers do a reasonable job, but would be nice to have some visual display as well. I have worked with Mitsubishi PLC's and have some spare ones kicking around, but really want something any domestic electrician can fix when I kick the bucket and my wife is on her own. So looking for something designed for the domestic market.
Ideas please.
