can anyone recommend any electrical fault finding courses for wired central heating controls?
Honeywell do them for £30, however all of the information on how they are wired can be downloaded from their website for free.

The Honeywell course i went on some years ago at a club house in Warrington, Lancs. was rubbish. A loud, red faced, pushy salesman arrived well late and babbled on about Honeywell for a bit, then messed about setting up a demo-rig, then liquid lunch.I dont drink, and after knocking back six pints our instructor seemed most concerned about my not drinking and spent another thirty mins. and two more pints trying to get me and another tee-totaler to "at least have one pint".
Next he gave his safety pitch, and promptly electrocuted himself. Moving quite nimbly for such a large bulk, he claimed that someone had interfered with his rig assembly. After counting his fingers he again lurched forward and caused another flash and bang. No claims of foul play that time.
Timeout was called, and, consternation, the bar keys could not be found. Salesman looking very tired and emotional told us to practice what we had learned and to always remember that we were dealing with a very dangerous business.
