Central Heating - Help!

looks like it will be the same. power it off and take it off the wall. is there a wire in the terminal marked L2 if so I think it needs moving to L1

BOILER HAS TO BE OFF NO POWER TO THE STAT BEFORE CHANGING ANYTHING

Yeah blue needs to be in L1. there are batteries in this unit aren't there? Please don't touch it though unless you know there is not power on the wires you touch
 
Can't answer that but the stat is simply a switch and L1 is normally Off or Open as in no demand for the boiler. L2 is normally On or closed as in there is demand. The stat will close the switch when the room temp is lower than the set point. if its in the wrong terminal on the back its going to work in reverse.
