Central heating not working as it used to be

I've told you what I think the problem is.

Maybe someone else will appear and review things and confirm or reject my suggestion but in the absence of that, get a plumber to come and fix it!

As you were happy to wire in the 3 port valve I would recommmend getting hold of a cheap multimeter, Screwfix do a reasonable one for £10.
Then come back for advice on which voltages to check when heating only should be on.

Final question should I open up the junction box and check for the orange wire ( which is the rightmost one, correct me if I am wrong) is the orange wire loose, fix it back and close the box.

Offcourse with power supply off from the main.

Yes I would check in particular that the grey and orange wires from the valve have a good electrical connection in the wiring centre. Either one of these could be the source of your problem.

Ok I think I have done it. Today I opened the wiring junction board that the valve connects to as well as the programmer and found the Grey/Blue wire very loose in fact not making connection to it slot. I have photo attached, it's fourth set of wire from the right side.

So after some fiddling as it was not easy putting it back to slot I managed to it and tighten the screw for that slot.

Then I put heating on from programmer, set room thermostat to 25 and saw the boiler coming on with the flame and heating icon, to double check I saw gas meter running as well.

Hot water was igniting the system anyway but I checked anyway and that was ok as well.

So now I have my central heating system back to as it was.
