I have a myson cp53 central heating pump.
Twice now the central heating has not started up in the morning.
First time - Few weeks back, I had to reset the boiler and it fired up.
Second time - Yesterday, the heating did not come on in the afteroon. The boiler is a worcester greenstar RI 15. The blue light would be solid and the green would come on and then go out. I left it until this morning and thankfully it fired up again.
However, I now notice a continuous scratching, kind of dirt rolling around inside noise coming from the heating pump. Video attached (note: you may need to turn up the volume to hear the sound).
Recommendations? As far as I know, it's never been replaced since the house was purchase by my parents in the 1980s. Or perhaps it was replaced in the late 1990s/early 2000s? My mother has no recollection of anything.
Question:
If I do replace. Do I replace with a like for like. Or are there recommendations for a more up-to-date pump?
Please note. I will be doing the change myself and thus want the electrical wiring to be exactly the same.
Many Thanks!
