Hi,

I just switched on the gas central heating for the first time since we bought the house three months ago but it does not seem to work. I have a Glow worm Energy saver 40 boiler.
I turned on the gas valve and the power and the red light came on. I then turned to the right the thermostat knob to the maximum as well as the high/low control knob but the green light remains off. I can hear noises coming from the boiler but I waited about 45 min and the heaters were still cold.
Am I doing something wrong?I never had gas heating in my life!
Thanks

Hello from Hampshire.

Does the system heat your hot water? If so does this work?

look through the site glass can you see the main burner lit or the pilot light
if so go p to your aring cupboard and check if the pipe work is getting hot

I think it does but I have a separate boiler tank for the hot water in the house so i do not want to use it to heat the water.

It does not have a glass where to look if the flame is on (at least I can not find it).
The pipe at the top of the boiler was cold last night after 45 min.
According to the user manual the green light should come on but it did not.
I am getting cold!!!

pipes not getting warm, the burner not lit. Have you got gas, if so you need an rgi to come out.
