central locking problem focus 2005

I have a 2005 ford focus estate 2l tdci. when i press the unlock button on the key fob all the doors unlock but the tailgate now doesn't, to open the boot i have to press the boot unlock button on the key fob twice, the boot then pops open, anyone have any ideas..thanks

1st check the wires in the rubber boot,that runs from car to rear hatch.
most fords seem to have a lot of wiring problems where there pulled tight and over time they snap/fray.
if no luck there then you will have to check whether the lock itself is working correctly.
