Ceramic Tiles and Quality

I need hardwearing ceramic tiles for hall and large kitchen. I have been told that DIY store (eg B&Q) tiles are not as good or hardwearing as more expensive ranges eg. Italian tiles etc.

Can anyone give advice on this or a tip on a range of tiles which are hardwearing and relatively inexpensive.?

There is a tiling section you know.
For a hardwearing tile, choose a porcelain tile.
