Has anyone information regarding DIMMABLE CFL down lighters V's Halogen GU10?

Particularly interested to know:

1) Light-up time V's Standard lights eg: 90% instant 10% gradual ????
2) Light output of CFL V's GU10
3) Cost payback V's efficency/savings - wroth it ??
4) Any install issues/considerations
5) Beam comparison and coverage ?
Is there a a formula to compare say a 60degree beam of GU10 to an 160degree beam of a CFL light ?

Any other thoughts about CFL dowlighters ??

They are none of the above AND not particularly dimmable.........

Some datasheets here on the dimmable CFL's
http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_In...Lamps_and_Tubes_Index/Dimmable_CFL/index.html
With a proper dimmable CFL you can get the light output down to 10% BUT the CFLs still comsume almost the full amount of power.

2) 11W CFL is the same light output as a 50W Halogen or a 60W standard bulb.

3) You are saving 0.04KWH per hour the bulb is on so work out how many hours a year its on and multiple by 0.04 and the cost per KWH you are paying and see how much you are saving.
Every 10,000 hours you will need to buy a new one at £11 compared to about £2.50 for a halogen GU10.
Thats assuming you dont dim the light much because if you do the power taken by a Halogen will drop but a CFL wont much.

5) Beam diameter = 2 * Distance from bulb * TAN (beam angle /2)

Plan B - get rid of all those ludicrous 2" diameter lights which you are using in a way they were never designed to be used, and replace them with something which actually works.
