Does anybody know what impact turning on and off the boiler numerous times each day will have on a boiler's life-span?

Assume it must be minimal as that is what the room stat is supposed to do?

Wont make any difference to the boiler, my stat must turn it on and off 20 times a day to regulate at 20 degrees.

I assume you're talking about an older boiler where the entire supply is switched, rather than newer models where there is a permanent supply and a switched call for heat?

Just checked the HRM 12/15 manual and there is a switched live and perm live. Does this mean the Room stat (CMT927) Live should be wired to switched L?

The room stat should be wired into the wiring centre and the orange from the motor valve does the actual provision of the call for heat on its orange wire which should be connected to the switched live on the boiler.
