Hi,

I am building a small extension on the side of my house and will be taking a feed from the existing radiator pipes to supply a new radiator being fitted into the extension.

As the extension will have a concrete floor what sort of protection will be needed for the pipework as the concrete screed will be laid over? Do they need to be shuttered in place and if so with what materials?

Many thanks

The pipes in my extensiion were sheathed in a kind of fibrous pipe "lagging" (Cue laughter from plumbers who know what it's called) I think it's primary purposes are to prevent mechanical damage from the screed aggregate, and prevent chemical damage of the copper from the screed. Probably best to wait until a "grown up" replies.

Thin wall lagging is best as it protect the pipes and allows for expansion.
Pipes should be laid in a purpose built duct
