CH Pump Problem

I was allways a fan of the older type Grundfos but my plumbing friends tell me that the UPS3 especially and generally, all the newer type Grundfos's wouldn't now be their first choice due to relatively short lives and opt for pumps like the DAB Evosta 3, it might be a bit unfair because I wouldn't expect any A rated pump to last longer than maybe 10 years or so, I have a exactly 7 year old 6M Wilo Yonos Pico still working fine.
Agree, I was once a fan of Grundfos, wouldn't have anything else, but they've lost their way with the UPS3. A few years back I replaced a UPS 5-50 with a UPS2 which has been fine, but heard bad things about the UPS3, like it frying boiler PCBs. Also higher efficiency at the cost of lower reliability. Who wouldn't pay another £5 per year in electric for better reliability, when the energy ends up in the water or the house anyway?
