CH Pump rework ??

Looking at the pump in my combi, it seems to be the same as a standard Grundfos 15/50 except for the bit with the impeller etc. A replacement 'boiler pump' is about 3 times the cost of the standard Grundfos pump so I was wondering - has anybody tried swapping the pump motor body onto an existing unit ??
