are you getting confused with the Maldives ?

I think the mauritian coastline and towns are all sea level, but the main airbase is 60 metres, so as a place to live it is not good, for OUR air base, we're fine

Why don't we sell it to trump for a Trillion dollars? invest the money in securing pensions or maybe a worth while border force ?

Fair do's. I doubt UK will not allow the use of RAF bases, we've already flown out some Tornado jets to lend a bit of a hand in Iran, and besides, us Brits love a good scrap.

I think they are there to shoot down drones and missiles if Iran responds.

I can't see us getting involved in a pre-emptive strike on Iran. There is no basis in international law.

Chagos Islands are nowhere near Mauritius. It is a weird historical happenstance that Mauritius has ended up with them.
