hi all new to this but thought you would get a laugh from this one. my sister( well off and lives in posh house) needed to change a ceiling rose. H aving changed a few in my time a set to work with a will. turned off power, had my son ( appentice aged 12 at time ) standing by to hand up tools etc.
unscrewed old rose and found.......16 cables running into old rose!!!
now i should have stopped there but noooooooo. carefully labeled each cable and had son write down exact wiring layout. four hours of experimenting later i could not work out what some of the wires did.
I admited defeat and returned wires to orginal state. sis called in sparks who had done job a year before. turned out that some of the cables had been looped to the same fitting twice!!!
moral of story...even experts make mistakes lol
