Hi all

I'm changing over a standard single plastic non earthed light switch to a balcony. Current switch has a common in and L1 out.

I've opened up the new single metal light switch which I've earthed, however there's no Common and L1, but L1, L2, L3 & L4.

L1 L2

L3 L4

Is it possible to use this or will I need to source another switch.

Cheers

Mark - you'd be better off looking here: https://www.diynot.com/wiki/Electrics:Intermediate

Scroll down to the end.

Once upon a time we used to be able to link to sub-sections within an article, so could have given you a link direct to the relevant place, but the people who run the site decided that it would be an improvement to replace the Wiki package with one which had fewer features and was less easy to use.

Fantastic. Checked it out switched sockets and didn't end up with a curly perm when I put the new switch on.

Thanks again, help is very much appreciated.
