Hi all -

I'm installing a thermostatic shower and have chased pipes in wall with 3/4" female connectors off the elbows ready to connect up. The shower has come with these angled 1/4" to 3/4" connectors which seem quite common with showers now, and have a narrowing internally. I have however had to change the tile to a much thinner one, meaning the gap between the wall and the shower is now too great. My idea is to change the supplied adapters to a standard 1/4" to 3/4" male adapter which will make up the gap as it's shorter. But I'm wondering if there's a reason I should be using the supplied angled adapters and what they actually do?

Many thanks!

The angled adaptors are supplied so that if the pipes in the wall are not spaced correctly, the shower can still be fitted by adjusting the two angled bits until the spacing is correct.
If your pipes are spaced correctly, you don't need the adaptors.

Just to keep you right, it would be 15mm (not 1/4")to 3/4" reducers

If you get a shower fitting kit then just attach through the tile @ 150mm centres and then trim pipe to suit.
