I have been given a 24v NUPOWER cordless drill but I am not sure how long I should charge it for and therefore don't want to risk overcharging it if it is of the quick 1 hour charge type.

On the 240V mains charger it quotes 28V dc then a long dash with three short dashes underneath, followed by 400mA. On the battery it states- 24V with the same dash and short dashes followed by /1.0Ah.

Anyone know the answer? :?:

The charger should automatically stop when it is finished charging. They usually have a light to indicate what it is doing.

The little line with the dashes is just to say that it is dc (rather than ac). If the battery is 1 Ah and the charger provides 400mA it should take a little over 2.5 hours to fully charge.

i would suspect 3 to 5 hrs
is it not written anywhere on the drill or kit box!!!
