We are doing our kitchen and want something different other than tiles. Would ideally like the splashback all round but is there a cheaper alternative? I understand i would need something heat resistant by the hob. I am covering old tiles so I couldn't have anything too narrow.

Thanks so much for any replies :)

Are you after something that is cheaper or different or both? Or are you just trying to avoid removing the old tiles? I doubt you will find anything cheaper, tiles can be cheap as chips if plain colours are chosen. What is your budget?

B&Q do some tiles in 600 x 600.. ideal height for a splashback.. someone did their actual counters with them and they look like granite..
available in grey or white granite effect..

that was 6 months ago so they might be more now.. but that's for a pack of 3..
