I know theres no such thing as "Cheap Oak" But was looking at buying a couple solid worktops to cut down to make a computer desk and TV unit. Have a few tools and bit of diy expirience and there simple enough job, but not got a clue where to source the wood from.

Using worktops is very expensive, anyone recommend where's the cheapest source for oak boards?

find somebody ripping out a kitchen and sand the top layers off then good as new

Scroll on your local gumtree, shpock, freegle, even Ebay if you set the distance from your postcode.
I regularly get free oak furniture and worktops that I dismantle and use the boards, legs and everything else for new projects.
Sometimes I pay for them, but a lot less than what it would cost to buy new.

MDF sheet and then veneer?

Or pre-veneered sheet.

Unless you like the worktop wood block effect. :cautious:
