I have seen an underfloor heating that is a web and purpose built for under tiles. It is bedded in with a thicker than normal bed of tile cement. Has anyone any experience of this product and its durability and heat ouput?
Securespark this product is promising 20 degrees average from floor to about 6 foot high constantly from only 160 watts ouput.
I was considering it because the four foot double rad in the kitchen (which has two external walls which are exposed to the elements) dosen't seem to provide enough heat on its own.
Do you think I'd be better investing in some form of insulation for these external walls rather tthan spending £500+ on the underfloor?
Underfloor heating is lovely to walk on, but it takes time to warm & to cool, so you do have to pay attention to weather forcasts. (You dont want doors & windows open because the floor is still warm).
I am quite overwhelmed by the amount of UFH available. I will probably try the insulating measures first as they offer the cheapest option and I can always go UFH if the insulation dosen't succeed in producing a consistently warm kitchen.
