Hi,
I am looking to remove the chimney breast on 1st floor and second floor at some point but just wondered if Chimney's normally narrow off as they go up to the roof. The chimney breast is alot deeper on the ground floor than it is on the 1st floor, just wondered if this is normal or why they are like this?
Thanks

Sorry mate but excuse my building ignorance but how does that explain the chimney narrowing off from the ground floor to the top

A fire place downstairs, then the flue bends to one side the get around the fireplace upstairs, then two flues narrow in the section of the breast in the loft

If by deeper you mean outwards into the room, then its just down to the fire place opening making it deeper - normally so if a back to back with next door
