Chimney breast: Tying-in and Thermal Bridging

Hey good folks,

I have a side extension that will extend out in line with an existing brickwork chimney breast, will it be fine in terms of tying-in the new block work with the chimney breast as you would normally or are there any concerns here?

Also in terms of thermal bridging I suppose it would be best to line internally with a layer of PIR to that now internal section of wall?
