Hi everyone,

I'm a power wheelchair user and currently renovating a bungalow, part of which is replacing the subfloor.

I was originally going to go with 22mm chipboard tongue and groove over 18mm for extra strength (my heaviest wheelchair weighs 175kg plus me near 100kg).

However we're going to install glue down LVT as well so it'll needing flooring plywood on top anyway (not sure yet whether 6mm or 9mm).

I'm wondering if the ply will add a large amount of strength (assuming laid over the joists as well) so 18mm chipboard is sufficient.

I believe the joists are around 400mm apart.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks
