In the process of working on my bathroom, I dropped the sink in the bath and the waste pipe chipped the surface of the bath.

Replacing the bath is not really an option and the chip is relatively small - 10mm by 3mm at it's widest.

I'm looking at repair kits as I'm worried about it leaking - haven't filled the bath up yet.

While I would like a flawless match, a good solid repair is more important.

So far I have found 4 products that seem to fit the bill, and going by the reviews on Amazon, 2 are contenders...

  1. Anglo Adhesives Acrylic bath repair kit - http://www.angloadhesives.co.uk/acrylic_bath_repair.html
  2. Ronseal Kitchen & Bathrrom Repair kit - http://www.ronseal.co.uk/home/kitchen-and-bathroom/kitchen-and-bathroom-repair-kit/
  3. Craemer Bathroom Repair Kit - http://www.diybathrepair.com/repair-instructions-ceramic-enamel.html
  4. Milliput Superfine White - https://www.milliput.com/white.html
I'm torn between the Milliput and the Craemer - The Milliput looks easier to apply, but the Craemer looks like it will give the better aesthetic finish...

What do you lot think?

CmdrBond, good evening.

one way to go is to make an Insurance Claim, under the "Accidental Damage" section?

Why? because if you are not fully satisfied with the outcome of a "Repair" it is up to your Insurer to sort it for you??

Down side is that your Insurance Premium will rise.

It is a trade off between the premium rise and the cost of a new bath?

There's normally a sizeable excess on that section of the policy.

I used the Cramer one when we broke the shower screen from it's hinges which Smashed in the bath (terrible experience, first day we moved in!)
Anyway it worked quite well, but I also did another area at the same time which didn't work so well.
I think it cracks where it's thin at the edges, so you need a fairly good layer. Our bath is actually metal BTW.
Not too helpful review I'm afraid, but good luck
