citroen relay gearbox

just replaced a clutch and thrust bearing on my 03 citroen relay short wheel base connected everything back up , went to start it up , turns over but wont start. engine light flashes once on dash and then stays on(just thought this might b signal from engine management) sensor/sender from top of gearbox came out of sleeve when removing gearbox , i put it back in didnt seem to b damaged but could b. any help would b greatly appreciated

The sensor on the top of the gearbox bell housing is the crank position sensor - if its damaged in any way the engine won't start.
Best to replace with a genuine Citroen part - about £16.
