Cladding material - replace with upvc, or ply again?

Hi all, our estate is having the plywood panels replaced as they are weathered as part of external redecoration. I asked for mine to just be painted as I felt they weren't that bad and I want to investigate upvc. Do mine look that bad? Been quoted £500 to replace.

I really prefer upvc, can I have upvc coverboard? Will it cost that much more?

I would never replace anything with uPVC. It looks dreadful when installed and worse as it deteriorates. Horrible stuff.
