So I have replaced all 8 radiators in my house and everything is good and so far no leaks
As mentioned in a previous thread, as the system hasn’t been blessed with much inhibitor, I’m currently running MC3+ through the system which has been in there a couple of days
Each day I have been running the system for approximately two hours and yesterday evening I cleaned out the magna clean which you can see from the attached photo, had a small amount of magnetite on there.
My plan was to continue to run and clean the filter out for 5 days in total before flushing the system and adding the inhibitor
First question : I know the cleaner can be left in the system for up to 28 days and considering all new radiators, does 5 days seem like a sensible period of time to clean the pipes and remove any flux as I believe the cleaner does this according to Adey tech Support ?
There has been minimal new piping required and prior to the new radiators being fitted the system did not suffer from any sludge
Second question : my plan for draining the system was again run the system and get all radiators fully up to temperature and then turn off the heating and drain whilst warm/hot
I have fitted drain valves on all 4 downstairs radiators so plan was to empty from all 4 points and then refill the system with fresh water, bleed and then run the system, then empty a final time before fill and inserting the inhibitor
All things considered does this sound like a sensible and correct plan or have I missed something please?
Finally, is there anywhere on the boiler itself that I should be draining during the emptying of the system or is the above procedure of just draining at all 4 downstairs radiators be sufficient ?
My boiler is a Worcester green star 37CDI
Many thanks in advance
