cleaning oak bean after sanding and before oiling

Need help pls.

I have sanded down an oak beam. Is there any recommend way to clean the beam before I put Oslo oil.

I used damp cloth but it left water marks?

I'd just brush it. It doesn't need to be spotlessly dust free as if you were painting it.
