Got water based paint on the outside of my van. How do I clean this off?

Got rust on inside and top where the push things on bar have been pressing down. Was going to get silver combicolour for all this (silver) if I can find it.

I use a non scratch scourer and warm water to remove water based paint from plastic, I would imagine that would work just as well on your van.

But do a small test first

Here we go again............................."how do I clean off paint off my van due to me being a messy handyman."

Whatever you do, don't advance on the van with a rattle can of silver in your hand.....it will look truly awful afterwards!
Tip (good enough for vans maybe).....mask of a circle where the roof rack pad sits, and sand it down to bright metal. Apply pink Kurust, and let it turn the metal black.
Apply some rust resistant (!) primer, let it dry. Brush paint the masked area with Smoothrite Hammerite and let it dry for two days.
As for the bodywork paint, a pan scourer and soapy water may help, as sircerebus recommends.
As for the inside, as above.
Have your next van ply lined!
John :)
