Hi,
We have removed our old boiler for a combi and there was old power socket inside the cupboard that we want to get rid of. The single cable leading to it comes from under the floor boards but is exposed and not inside the wall.
I can trace the cable a few feet, but don't really want to rip up all the floor boards to trace it back to the ring to disconnected.
Can I just remove the cable from the power socket (after turning off the power, of course) and instead end it in a junction box (or something similar) under the floor boards?
Also I went to B&Q to have a look at junction boxes, and they all seemed to be different AMPS. If this is the right solution, which one should I get?
Thanks
Wayne

You should either remove the cable back to it's source or pit it in a junction box which will remain accessible (not under the floor boards) as it could cause you some bother in the future..

If you know the general direction that the cable goes in, you may find that it spurs off another socket, so it would be easy to remove, if not use a 30A JB
