My electrical power sockets have been wired with grey twin and earth 2.5mm via 30 amp junction boxes. Who did this; unknown.

The single 2.5mm grey twin and earth wiring originates from the consumer box with RCDs then runs to the first junction box; off this is a single grey twin and earth 2.5mm to a power socket below. As the cable continues from this junction box to the next junction box; again a single 2.5mm cable supplies the next power socket below. In total there are 2no single, 4no double sockets off this single supply cable.

Question:
What is this circuit called; it is not a standard ring circuit where cable runs from main supply to socket; then socket to main supply to next socket returing to the consumer box; allowing current to flow either way around the circuit ?

Question:
The wiring has presented no problems in the last twenty years.
Are there any problems with this type of circuit wiring ?

Question:
This wiring circuit appears to end with the last junction box down to the last power socket below.
Any comments ?

It is called a radial circuit and as long as the protective device is rated either 16 or 20 amps then there should be no problem with the set-up as it is a standard design (albeit unecessary junction boxes if you can loop in and out of the sockets)

Thanks for the input; all sorted and tested now job done.
